Dan and Ed: $25K in 30 Days Dating Coach Success Story
Interview Transcript
The Counter-Intuitive $25K Success Story
Max: How much did you make exactly within the last 30 days?
Dan: 25k dollars.
Max: Yeah, these two brothers made 26,000 within 30 days with a counter-intuitive approach by saying no – saying no to low-quality clients, saying no to lead magnets, saying no to ads. They’ve simply adapted our process that we’ve taught them and the results speak for themselves. So I got together with them, interviewed them and asked them on how exactly they implemented our teachings and the results are phenomenal. So we’re going to crack right into it, enjoy.
Dan: Part of the reason why we got started with you and FBM is all kind of travel and you know being location independent with our work. Where are you guys from originally?
Ed: So we’re half Italian and half English, were born in Rome.
Max: Oh you’re born in Rome, that’s epic, no way! You know one of the reasons why we started is in the first few months, at least the first few months we were here, really sort of kick-starting this thing for ourselves, we were really bashing our head against the wall like really not getting anywhere. I mean Dan signed his first two initial clients but we felt like we were just spinning our wheels, not really having a system.
Ed: And then suddenly starting with you guys, going through all of the development and through all of this material and seeing a very sort of quick upsurge in the kind of results we were getting. So now still at a very sort of early phase where we’re like okay, now the money’s rolling in but we don’t have to rest, we can’t rest on our laurels, we’ve got to learn and move forward and build on top of you know each and every single week.
Max: Yeah, yeah of course it’s about consistency as it is you know with dating as well and you got, you guys were very fast, you joined like what, like 12, 13 weeks ago or something like that?
Dan: Yeah we did, yeah about I’d say nearly three months ago but not even, and half of like a big portion of that I’d say like at least 10 days of that period we were traveling in Colombia so we completely halted on.
Ed: We have one week I think it was two weeks ago, yeah that was mind-blowing like we just got four clients in a row in one week, I was just like that’s the thing Max is like mine just opened.
The Power of Momentum and Quality Client Selection
Ed: I don’t know about you but one thing that I realized just through my very brief entrepreneurial experience is the power of momentum. Success just breeds more hunger, breeds more action and how like you know and every step you take right now defines your future events. It’s like if you take massive action today right now it will just propel you for greater action and greater levels of growth in the future and that week was just a testament of us just going full throttle and it was beautiful and we saw the results.
Max: Yeah, yeah just again love it, I mean hell yeah that’s exactly how it is you know like once you get results like you’re passionate about and then you just hustle more which that means you get more results and so on and so forth. And I’m curious, I always ask that like was that your biggest lesson from FBM or did you have another big lesson where you said like that was you know one of the main things we learned?
Dan: I think the biggest lessons were one was like the importance of the quality of your clients, yeah, because like I’ve been in a lot of different programs before but like FBM really focuses on the real audience, the fake audience and I never heard of these concepts before, yeah. So it just was a complete game changer because I was like yeah I mean you know I can attract high quality clients, you know people that inspire me and that I would want to you know I will work harder for you know to get results.
So this is a testament because initially we were attracting you know clients which were you know pretty good but now we’re attracting entrepreneurs, some were like CEOs that we attracted and it’s like wow you know I feel so much more motivated.
Ed: Yeah it just elevates, it elevates your level mindset right because obviously the life situation your clients are in are a very strong determinant of their mindset right. The more responsibility they have, the more impact they create, the more it impresses on you this idea that you’re having a level up, you have a responsibility and you’re not being dragged down by say clients who for instance they’re still sorting their stuff out, you know they don’t have their life, they don’t have enough of a clear vision of where they’re heading and so that energy is pulling you down.
Ed: A lot of it is mindset at the end of the day you know and you can help people but as you say you’re not their babysitters, you know you’re not going to be their counselor if you know they’re still stuck on the fundamentals part and you can’t like you’re dragging their feet you know.
Max: Yeah it’s really cool like I should drop some extra content on that like just on social media or something like that, big difference in mindset of the clients that you’re getting and how that actually make it, it’s almost like you know I have to think like how I want to present it but it’s almost like you’re saying no to a lot of clients, potential clients which then is gonna actually get you more of the good kind of client. So it’s almost like a counter intuitive like you’re getting more clients by saying no to some clients which is funny.
From Struggle to System – The Pre-FBM Challenges
Max: So you kind of mentioned before like you’ve tried different types of programs before and you before that you kind of you guys mentioned that you know you kind of bang your head against the wall. So it’s like if you could kind of pinpoint it down to where were you before you joined FBM, what was kind of like the struggles that you’ve had before?
Dan: So I think the biggest struggles were first like knowing exactly what kind of client avatar wanted to have, really defining the yeah you know the people we want to surround us, all the clients. And then the other thing was the sales process, you know what we learned from FBM, a lot of objection handles, much more personalized roadmap for our clients and just generally like all the DM structures, it’s been so useful like learning how to send DMs and also how to yeah the sales side for sure, that’s a good point.
Max: Yeah and then one thing I always want to re-emphasize, are you guys running any ads or do you guys have a big social media account?
Ed: No, this is funny Max because okay I was in real estate prior to doing the dating stuff about a year ago and that flopped and when you made the list of all the things that you don’t need, those were actually all the things that I did starting out my business. So I just went crazy on you know producing this really fancy ebook with all the nice photos and it was tiring, it was a struggle. Did I get any deals out of that? No, like nothing you know, to running ads to you know my old mentor saying yeah you got to do all of these things because you’re going to absolutely crush it and not realizing that there was a much faster route to accessing our audience that you know I was just skipping a lot of steps.
Max: Yeah I mean that’s exactly how it is and you guys have also started doing TikTok or IG reels or something like that?
Dan: Yeah I started doing some IG reels but yeah I think the biggest difference has been really understanding the in-depthness of each conversation and that’s what yeah definitely that’s helped so much because personally I used to before to do a lot of cold calls and I would just call like a whole bunch of lists of people but I didn’t know if they had the problem, I didn’t know if they were part of the audience, so we just had the buying power so I would just use much time with that you know.
And nowadays like literally like I remember our parents were visiting us here in Mexico and you know I was just walking on the beach with my dad and I was skimming this prospect and you know it was still very casual and I went from a guy that I didn’t know from direct cold outreach to him being super bought into getting on a call. Okay fine you know we didn’t close it but just the ability, just the realization that I can do this anywhere like in most situations whether I feel good or bad you know whether I’m sitting you know on the sofa or I’m sitting at you know at the office like it’s possible right. And you can still create a very strong connection without speaking to them over the phone if you know how to do it.
Daily Routines and Lifestyle Design
Max: Yeah and that’s powerful because again like people kind of underestimate or they overestimate what it takes to get a client like so many times same for me I just reply to some DM and just casual game back and forth and then the guy’s like I’m ready let’s go and I’m like all right you know. And it’s really cool if you do the right things people really just come to you and if you then you know on top of that provide an epic value just more people come to you and more and more and it’s just like you said the momentum right.
And it’s cool that your parents visited you, what do they say their sons are dating coaches killing it over there in Mexico?
Ed: They don’t really understand it but it’s the typical thing right, my dad was like are you sure this business model works and then a minute they left and we did four deals that week and then we report it to our parents and they were like yeah I think your model works. Now he’s you know now they are calling us and say like what’s the next steps you know like much more bought in and I think that’s really reassuring that you know you don’t have people around you you care about who are dragging you down you know.
Max: Yeah man that’s so cool like I remember you know it was similar to my parents you know old school parents they’re like on the internet like you’re teaching people what, like it was like these two factors on the one side on the internet which is already weird as hell to you know that their generation and the other hand like you’re teaching guys like how to get dates like what the hell like what who the hell pays for that you know. Like my dad who was like very naturally good with women he’s like who the hell would pay for that and it’s just so funny to see that.
Yeah I mean what does your day-to-day life look like now, what is a typical day in the Dan and Ed day look like?
Ed: So I think we were still trying to figure that out but ideally I wake up quite early, I used to wake up too early now I wake up at 5:30 and I do all of my FDM development for about an hour and then I do my, so just going through the modules making sure that that is sort of you know deeply ingrained into my brain because the legion you know if I even wait if I even spend like a week not looking at the legion I feel like I’m losing sharpness and I need to sharpen again.
Half an hour of follow-up, then I’ll just run to the gym just really crush it for an hour, use whatever time I have during the gym to approach and just start some conversation with girls however destroyed or tired I might be, it’s just you know putting in the reps. And then going to a local cafe doing some more follow-up, planning my day which I should really be planning the day earlier but sometimes I don’t have time for that.
Max: And then heading straight to this really nice hotel the Grand Hyatt Playa where you have this beautiful breeze from the beach, there’s a beautiful spot nobody goes there and really sort of starting the day with legion, reporting to FBM on how my day has been, group posts, you know producing reels, getting on appointment sets calls, doing the sales calls with my brother and then helping on a little bit of the fulfillment. At the moment most of the stuff is covered by Dan you know fulfillment wise because he has more experience and then the rest of the day you know either in the evening going on dates, you know either going on a date or you know having like a girl come over and having a nice evening and then on the weekends just partying a little bit but never going sort of too hard.
Dan: Been pretty much you know waking up around 6:30, then what I do is I just do a bit of development in the morning but now that there’s a lot of clients coming in they all came at once, it’s like I need to keep my own development as a coach so really what I’m dating and myself as well when you have a dating coach as well right so yeah I’ve got my own coach. So we so far like this last few weeks has been a lot of development and dating for myself, right now it’s all about getting results for my clients so last week two of my clients were getting dates, I think one got five dates in a week.
Investment Plans and Future Vision
Max: But yeah other than that guys what you know you’re making good money, cash flow 8.5K or something like that as far as I remember, any plans where you want to invest that in?
Ed: That’s a good question so well we already upgraded our apartment so it’s our office and living space and already we see that we’re much happier right because we used to live in this freaking Gollum’s cave of an apartment here in Playa and it used to be really depressing and there was no light, there was no natural light, it just didn’t feel good.
Max: And in terms of we just want to invest it in ourselves obviously you know building our skill sets, yeah keep investing in our own coaching when it comes to business and when it comes to dating and just generally having the freedom lifestyle so we can travel and yeah we can keep working wherever we want to. I think that’s kind of how we want to go about it.
So yeah talking about the micro brands you know a few things maybe like you know the banner at the back, some nice photo shoots so that we can also you know create a little bit more of an image but nothing major so far. I think mostly it’s investing in ourselves, in our understanding over how to fulfill better, how to structure like a step by step.
Dan: Max I’m not gonna lie to you like you know it’s great to see client results but you also feel freaking amazing when you’re closing, yeah you know it’s just really powerful like you just feel like you know you’re providing right, you’re providing for yourself. Like how can I also help clients if you know I’m struggling financially, so the financial part has to be handled because gradually I want to be more and more focused on you know the fulfillment, on the coaching right, that’s what we’re here to do.
Max: Yeah exactly 100%, I mean look guys I see your mindset is on point, your work ethic is on point and it’s really really good, that means you know there’s a good breeding ground for a nice you know 50 to 100K a month business and then of course if you want to scale beyond 100K we’ll do that too.
Ed: Yes really awesome Max, I think yeah we were obviously getting inspired from your leadership and from your program because it’s super structured, it’s just super effective so it’s kind of what we want to go towards.
Max: Yeah yeah love it, I mean like I said like you guys have huge potential with that, I’ve seen the work ethic and you guys got your mind, your heart also at the right place and that’s really really cool to witness. Well thanks a lot for your time guys I appreciate that and I wish you a great day, have an awesome weekend, stay in touch.
Max: And if their story inspires you and you say hey how can I monetize my skill, hobby, expertise, passion, how can I build my freedom business from scratch, all you got to do is down in the description there is a link for a free consulting call, you can hop on that and talk to an expert of my team and we basically can tell you what structure you can adjust to yourself so you can also build your own freedom business. So talk to you soon and bye-bye.
