From Burnout to Breakthrough
I am Karyn Aymee. I’m French, and I am a love and intimacy coach, or sex psychologist, working online mostly, and that’s the goal, at least. I’ve been in this profession as a love coach, mindset coach, and life coach for over 25 years now.
The project of being an online coach started in 2020, just before, or at the same time as, COVID. I started with a French class to get familiar with this whole world, because it’s not my generation. It didn’t take me anywhere, but I learned the concepts, the techniques, and the words.
Then in 2022, I did a Tony Robbins program because I wanted to go out into the American market, and it was very tiring. It felt like I was rowing a boat and not going anywhere. I was almost close to burnout at that point, and I stopped for two years. I got sick over it.
Finding the Right Fit
When I met Max, I think it was on YouTube, I just felt that was the right place for me to be. I was really not active, I had maybe 40 posts on Instagram over the last three years, and maybe 250 followers, mostly friends from Facebook. I was nowhere. I was standing still.
I think the first thing I saw was a PDF he was giving away about becoming viral, and it probably came through YouTube, since that’s where I was mostly before. Then I enrolled in that viral thing, and FBM came just after. I saw a video, 20 minutes long, where he explains everything, and it just made sense. Everything made sense, and I could resonate with Max. I like his accent, I like that he speaks very fast, and as I told you, I follow my intuition, and my intuition said go there. So I just enrolled.
It was first a gut feeling, and then I liked the mentoring aspect, because when I was with Tony Robbins, I was doing everything by myself. Poor little me. Sometimes I couldn’t follow along, because what he was saying about social media over there wasn’t the same as what I was finding here in France. It was really terrible, a really difficult time, and there was no one I could speak with. So the mentoring was a big selling point for me in choosing Max’s system. It was very clear, and the videos were short and easy to process.
A Slow Start, Then Real Commitment
I worked on my ideal client, but at that point, last year, it wasn’t the same ideal client as now, because I was studying to be a psychologist. I started with just love coaching, but it was a bit too early for me to sign up at that point, since I was going through my psychology studies and traveling a lot, in Denmark. So I didn’t have enough time to really put myself into it, and I was frustrated not being able to do every day what I wanted to do with the program, because there’s only 24 hours in a day.
So when the six months ended, I decided to stay in the program and start paying monthly to keep the contact, access to the classes, and access to Max’s AI. I really started doing the work seriously after I finished my studies in February. The first day I started posting on Instagram every day, seriously, was March 18th. I had 250 followers at that point.
At the beginning, it was taking me two full days to create, film, and edit the videos. Now it takes me about four hours to get six or seven reels ready for the week. I send them to the content feedback team, and I got really precise feedback from the beginning. I think I was quite good at applying exactly what they said, so now when I send things in, there’s not much correction needed. It goes fast and efficient. I like that.
The Algorithm Notices, and So Do Clients
Now I have 1,800 followers. It’s very progressive, very stable. Yesterday morning I was at 1,700, and today I’m at 1,800. The algorithm noticed me about three weeks after I started. Every day I was posting my reel and one or two stories, even if it wasn’t perfect, I just kept going. After three weeks, I got my first video to go over 90,000 views in three days. I was like, what’s happening? That was really funny.
What happened was really unexpected. My goal at the beginning was to get seen, get views, and get new followers. Now it’s changing. I’m really happy, I’ve had over 500,000 views or interactions maybe, but now it’s time to get clients.
The first client came by himself a few weeks ago, and I sold him what I call my checkup session. Last week, he said he wants to move into my higher-tier offer. The first checkup session was meant to be two hours for €480, which is a bit much in France compared to what others charge, but I did that on purpose, because it’s a special subject, and I don’t want to attract tourists. There was another man who wanted to work with me, asked how much it was, and then ghosted me after I told him. I think that’s actually good, it filters out the tourists, and only really interested people come to me.
The medium-tier offer is €1,250 over a five-week program. I’m right in the middle of learning how to transform followers and views into clients. If it goes right, it’s going to make me a real professional, meaning I’ll be able to live off my online work.
Advice for Anyone Starting Out
I learned a lot about how to make a reel go viral. I have three people I mostly follow along with, Josh Lambert, I think it’s called Lambi. That was really nice, because Josh speaks French too, so he could give me feedback in my own language, which felt very useful. I learned a lot about what makes a reel get seen by the algorithm, and the consistency of having a mentor and a team there. It feels nice not to be alone. You can reach out, and they answer, it’s very nice and pleasant. Now I’ve got you as a mentor too, and that’s nice, because you’re a woman. I still feel like I’m at the very beginning of everything I have to learn.
For people in the same position as me, coaches or anyone who wants to be seen online, go viral, and build a business out of it, you really have to be committed. That’s what I couldn’t do at the beginning, because of all my other activities. You have to be ready to do the work every day, learn what you need to learn, and listen to the feedback on your content. You have to be sure you want to do the work, and be ready to succeed.
From 250 Followers to Her First Paid Session
Karyn is a love and intimacy coach from France with over 25 years of experience, but almost none of it online.
After a tiring stint with another coaching program left her close to burnout, she stepped away for two years.
When she came back, she had only 250 followers and no real content system, until she found our program and started posting seriously, one reel a day, no matter how it looked.
Three weeks later, her first video crossed 90,000 views.
Editing that used to eat up two full days now takes her about four hours, thanks to clear, specific feedback from the content team each time she posts.
The real turning point came recently: her first client booked a paid checkup session, and has since asked to move into her higher-tier, five-week program.
